The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to take up the beautification project wherein the area nearby Bandra West railway station will be worked on. Along with this, the BMC will widen the road which leads to the station.
To get the project into place, the BMC will give ₹2.25 crore to railways as the stalls and shops which will be demolished belong to the railways.
The road close to the railway station is congested and narrow as well. This causes a problem for pedestrians as well as motorists who find it difficult to drive. And so, the BMC plans to pull down structures for the road widening project.
Railways agreed to demolish the structures as they will be getting ₹2.25 cr in return. However, the BMC will have to shell out money for setting up the same structures after the road widening project.
