An earthquake of magnitude 3.4 was recorded in parts of Dahanu taluka of Palghar district at 1:47 pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2024. Due to this earthquake, a part of the house collapsed in Dhaniwari Panotpada. There is a demand that the administration should provide financial assistance to the tribal families by doing Panchnama. Palghar district has been experiencing frequent mild to moderate earthquakes for the last several years. Residents of Dahanu and Talasari talukas of Palghar district are currently under earthquake threat due to frequent earthquakes.

An earthquake of 3.4 magnitude struck parts of Dahanu taluka of Palghar at 1:47 pm on Wednesday. The tremor was felt in parts of Purva Pattaya in Talasari and Dahanu taluka. There was a big shock in Ashta, Raipur, Saiwan, Amboli, Dhaniwari of Dahanu taluka. Part of a tribal brother's house in Dhaniwari Panotpada collapsed in the earthquake.


Although there was no loss of life in this incident, the house was badly damaged. Since earthquakes are occurring frequently and the epicentre of those earthquakes are in different villages, it has become equally important for the citizens of the villages to remain alert.
