Mumbai- After MPs and MLAs, former corporators too will now get to commute free on BEST buses. Shiv Sena member Miraj Shaikh put forward this proposal and the Samajwadi party as well as the Congress seconded this proposal. It got mayor Snehal Ambekar's nod, even though the BJP was not in favour of the decision. The BJP had objected, questioning how many corporators commute by public transport buses anyway. SP corporators demanded that BMC should pay for these passes and Shiv Sena corporator Miraj Shaikh informed that there are corporators who choose to commute by the BEST buses.
