The Garbage composting project at Gaimukh is very important for Thane city. This project should be implemented in a bigger space by integrating the two projects there. About 300 to 400 tonnes of wet waste will be produced in a three acre area by scientifically disposing of it. Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik expressed the belief that this will be a big project of this kind in the state. Sarnaik inspected four development works in the Thane city-Ghodbunder road area on Friday, February 14 morning.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde provided huge funds for these four important projects during his tenure as Chief Minister. Its works have now started. Fertilizer manufacturing project, Nagla Bandar bay shore beautification, development of Borivede ground, garden on reserved land at Anand Nagar were inspected. Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik said that necessary instructions have been given to the officials in this regard.
TMC Commissioner Saurabh Rao explained that as per the instructions given by the Transport Minister Pratap Saranaik, a combined project of 300 to 400 tonnes of wet waste will be made by using the maximum area in the possession of the municipal corporation.

Gaimukh Fertilizer Project
Under the Basic Amenities Development Scheme of the State Government, Thane Municipal Corporation has received a total fund of INR 150 crores. It includes a fertilizer plant with a total capacity of 97 tonnes at Gaimukh and 50 tonnes at Nagla Bandar along with two mobile vans of 1.5 tonnes capacity. The site is in the middle of the National Park and Tungareshwar Range and the project has received permission from the Forest Department.
Saranaik instructed that by integrating both these projects on a land of about three acres, a large project should be implemented using all the land in the possession of the Municipal Corporation of Gaimukh. He also said that since this is a very important project for the city, funds have been made available for it.
Nagla Port beautification
A memorial to Kanhoji Angre, the chief of armor of the Maratha Empire, is being developed at Nagla Bandar with a fund of INR 150 crores from the state government. Sarnaik interacted with the local residents as well.
The TMC should take care that all the affected families in this area will be properly rehabilitated. The issues of conservation of houses and boats should be sorted out by holding a meeting with them. The locals here are in some way descendants of Kanhoji Angre. Therefore, their due respect should be maintained, Sarnaik explained.

Borivade Maidan Development
INR 75 Crores have been allocated by the State Government under the scheme 'Development of Basic Facilities in Municipal Area' for the development of reservation and facility plots in Ghodbunder Road Ward No. 1. Borivede ground is being developed from it and Dharmaveer Anand Dighe sports complex is being constructed. Its Bhoomipujan was done recently.
The area of Borivede Maidan reserved plot is 84974 square meters out of which gymkhana will be constructed on a 6819 square meters area. This gymkhana will have facilities for various types of sports. It will have facilities such as badminton court, cricket practice net, wrestling, canteen etc. So, outdoor sports like mallakhamba, kabaddi, red clay wrestling, basketball court, volleyball court, skating track are also included.
Park at Anandnagar
The MHADA is in possession of a state government plot at Anand Nagar. There is a reservation for a municipal park on that place. A fund of INR 2 crore has been made available by the state government for this.
A new structure has been constructed along the road for Swami Samarth's monastery on this plot. This place should be vacated and cooperation should be given to the Municipal Corporation for a park there. The park will be named after Swami Samarth. Also, this park and area should be managed through the Math. Sarnaik also clarified that the concerned should ensure that the park remains open for all and there is no encroachment on it.
