The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) plans to float tenders for hiring consultants to plan stations for ambitious ring metro project in Thane. There will be a total of 22 stations.
This development comes amid the state government wait continues the Centre’s approval for the ambitious Ring Metro project in Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s hometown Thane.
This metro aims to bridge connectivity gaps between densely populated pockets on either side of Ghodbunder Road and Eastern Express Highway.
It will also provide alternative and fast connectivity with Thane’s dense pockets and railway stations on Central Railway (CR) and be a feeder to MMRDA’s Metro 4 (Wadala-Kasarwadavali) and Metro 5 (Thane-Bhiwandi).
