Mumbai Traffic Police Announces Restrictions For Aashadi Ekadashi On July 16-18

Mumbai Traffic Police has announced new traffic restrictions for Ashadhi Ekadashi on July 17. Many roads in Dadar and Wadala areas will be closed for traffic as a large number of devotees gather in the Vitthal temple of Wadala.


As per the notification, the following traffic rules will commence on July 16 at 7:00 pm and will remain in force till July 18 at 8:00 am. The roads that will be closed or declared 'no entry' are as follows:


Road Closure: The first route, a major road in Dadar, which will remain closed is the junction of Dadar T.T to Tilak Road and Katrak Road.

Alternative: Traffic will be diverted to Dr BA Road North via Ruia College Junction.

Road Closure: 

  • Both the south and north borders will remain closed - including the junction of Mancherji Joshi Road and Jam-e-Jamshedji Road up to the junction of Five Gardens and Tilak Road
  • Katrak Road to Devi Barretto Circle, and junctions of GD Ambedkar Marg, Tilak Road - South and North) will remain closed
  • GD Ambedkar Marg coming from Sarfere Chowk i.e. GD Ambedkar Marg and Naigaon Cross Road (MMGS Marg) junction to Katrak Road will remain closed
  • The extension of Tilak Road to Sahakar Nagar Galli to Katrak Road (East to West) will remain closed
  • Parsi Colony Road No. 13 and 14, along with the junction of Lady Jehangir Road and Katrak Road will remain closed
  • Junction of Dinshaw Road and Mancherji Joshi Marg and Katrak Road will remain closed
