Mumbai: Traffic restrictions and diversions issued to ease congestion in BKC

The Mumbai Police on Wednesday imposed traffic restrictions to ease traffic congestion in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) area.


According to the police, the Central Railway Authority will demolish the old Sion railway-over-bridge and construct a new over-bridge. Therefore, the traffic coming from Sion railway station to Kalanagar has been diverted. Vehicular traffic on BKC road coming from BKC Connector Bridge and MTNL Junction has increased significantly. As a result, there has been a traffic jam in the BKC area.


A traffic notification issued on Wednesday night said there is a need to issue a traffic management order to temporarily divert vehicular traffic in the BKC area to avoid inconvenience to motorists and the public.


From 00.01 hrs the following traffic management order will be in force as per requirement dated 08/08/2024 on a temporary basis till further orders, it said.


There is no access on this route Vehicles coming from MMRDA Office - Jio World - Right turn from the road at Family Court Junction, take BKC Road towards N.S.E. Junction, Bharat Nagar and BKC area. 


Alternate Route: Vehicles coming from MMRDA Office - Jio World will take a left turn at Family Court Junction and take a U-turn at MMRDA Junction to take BKC Road towards N.S.E. Junction, Bharat Nagar and BKC area.


No Access: All vehicles coming N.S.E from BKC Connector via Al-Quraish Road. Tata Colony Road Junction - Bharat Nagar and Kherwadi.

Alternate Route: Vehicular traffic coming from BKC Connector from Al-Quraysh Road will take a right turn at N.S.E. Junction - Bharat Nagar Junction and NABARD Junction will take a left turn and take Bharat Nagar road towards Valmiki Nagar - Bharat Nagar and Kherwadi to their desired destination.


No Entry: Vehicles coming from Connector Bridge and N.S.E will not turn left towards One BKC for Junction Latika Road opposite Hotel Yautcha Street-3 Road. 


Alternate Route: Vehicles coming from Connector Bridge and N.S.E will take right turn at Junction One BKC - Left turn at Canara Bank Junction and take Avenue-3 towards Jio World Convention Center and American Consulate Junction and proceed towards BKC area.


No Entry: Vehicles coming towards N.S.E via Street-3 and Avenue-1 via Jio World Convention Centre, American Consulate, Parini Crisenjo, Kautilya Bhava. Junction - Family Court will be restricted at O.N.G.C. Building from 08.00 to 11.00 hours and 16.00 to 21.00 hours for all vehicles except Monday to Friday, Saturday and Sunday.


Alternate Route: Vehicles coming from Jio World Convention Center, American Consulate O.N.G.C. Here it will take a U-turn. Building and proceeding along Avenue-3 road will take a left turn towards the US Consulate and proceed to their destination via Ambani Square Building.


Instructions for Passenger Passenger Buses :- Passenger buses coming towards the BKC area from Bandra Kurla Complex Road will not take a turn at N.S.E. Junction, Bharat Nagar Junction, NABARD Junction and Diamond Junction. They will take a right turn at Platina Junction and proceed to their desired destination in the BKC area.
