The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has announced a budget of around INR 5,700 crore for the fiscal year 2025–26. There are no new taxes in the budget. The administration will generate revenue through financial reforms.

Here are the 7 main allocations of the new budget:
1. Tourism
- A new tourism plan has been introduced for economic growth and to attract tourists.
- The NMMC will provide infrastructure for the marina park by the stream.
- A mangrove park is also planned with the Forest Department to promote conservation and environmental awareness.
- The budget proposes a museum and aquarium in Nerul, Sector 28. The facility will cover 7,773.68 square meters. The project is a joint effort between the NMMC and the Fisheries Department.
- Infrastructure at Gavlidev and Sulaidevi will be improved. This includes new walkways, gazebos, street lighting, and drinking water facilities.
- An outdoor theatre will be built in Ghansoli, Sector 8, Plot No. 22. The 3,542.28 square meter property was initially reserved for a Folk Arts Centre but is now assigned to the NMMC.
2. Finances
- The administration also aims to maintain financial stability. Under this budget, revenue will be increased, funds will be used efficiently, and liabilities will be managed.
- A task force has been appointed to focus on revenue generation. The team will examine properties occupied without occupancy certificates and unpaid taxes.
- Modern LiDAR-based surveys are being used to track property changes.
- The Sub-Registrar Office's computer system (IGR Integration) allows real-time tracking of property transactions.
- The administration plans to improve tax collection through data analysis, technology, taxpayer communication, and awareness campaigns.
3. Healthcare
- The Postgraduate Medical Education College in Navi Mumbai is a key project.
- The budget includes MRI services at civic hospitals and dialysis and chemotherapy facilities.
- Plans include a modular mortuary, a geriatric wing, and new courses at the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS).
- Two Ayurvedic hospitals and a veterinary hospital are also planned.
4. Infrastructure
- The city mobility plan includes high-quality roads and new flyovers.
- INR 50 crore is allocated for buying more plots from CIDCO.
- More parking spaces will also be developed under Parking Policy Plan.
- 19 new flyovers are in the pipeline to enhance traffic flow and ensure high-speed, uninterrupted travel across the city.
5. Education and Training
- A science park will be completed this year.
- Civic schools will get computer labs, NCC training, and Atal Tinkering Laboratories.
- Two new centres will be set up for education and services for disabled people.
- 30% of commercial shops in civic markets will be reserved for women self-help groups. They will receive vocational training.
6. Environment
- Environmental projects include 145 electric vehicle charging stations, eco-friendly crematoriums, and an animal crematorium.
- 45,000 trees will be planted to create 40 hectares of green space.
- Solid waste management will be upgraded. This includes a textile recovery facility, compressed biogas, waste-to-energy projects, and command centres for monitoring.
- There are plans for a 1.5 MW hydroelectric plant and a 100 MW solar project at Morbe Dam.
- The transport body aims for a fully green fleet in two years. Another 100 electric buses will be added.
7. Water Supply
- To address water demand, an agency has been appointed to source water from the Patalganga River, the Bhira hydroelectric project, and the Poshir and Shilar projects.
- The SCADA smart system will manage distribution networks.
- Companies will receive 40 MLD of treated water from two tertiary plants to save potable water.
- Holding ponds will be expanded to prevent water from entering the city.
