Due to urgent repairs on the water pipeline in the Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation area, water supply has been affected. Initially, a shutdown by the STEM Authority was scheduled for Tuesday, 22 July, which would have impacted water availability in Thane. However, the STEM Authority has now rescheduled the shutdown to Friday, 25 July.
As per the revised schedule, water supply in some parts of Thane Municipal Corporation will be shut off from 9:00 am on Friday, 25 July to 9:00 am on Saturday, 26 July. During this period, the Thane Municipal Corporation will manage water supply through its own system, providing water once a day in a phased manner across the city.
Areas including Ghodbunder Road, Patlipada, Balkum, Brahmand, Pawar Nagar, Kothari Compound, Dongri Pada, and Waghbil will experience no water supply from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm on Friday, 25 July.
In other areas such as Samata Nagar, Ritu Park, Siddheshwar, Eternity, Johnson, Jail, Saket, Uthalsar, Reti Bandar, Kalwa, and parts of Mumbra, the water supply will be shut from 9:00 pm on Friday, 25 July to 9:00 am on Saturday, 26 July.
The shutdown is being undertaken by the Mahavitaran company to replace meters and fix leakage issues at the Shahad raw water pumping station. Due to this, STEM’s water supply will remain suspended temporarily.

Following the shutdown, water supply may be at low pressure for the next 1 to 2 days until normal supply resumes. Citizens are requested to store water in advance, use water judiciously, and cooperate with the Thane Municipal Corporation, as appealed by the Water Supply Department.
