Reports then stated that the repair personnel was arrested for the same since no information was put to make the residents aware of the repair work. The deceased, Atharva Sharma, had returned from his Grandmother’s home to his residence in Malad, where the lift was being repaired on the seventh floor of the building. Upon reaching the residence, Atharva called for the lift, which opened on the ground floor. He opened the collapsible door, and before his brother, Kaushik (21), could pull him back, the lift dragged Atharva, and stopped at a point, where his body jammed lift’s further movement. Upon knowing the same, the security guard rushed to the top floor to stop the repair work. Atharva was rushed to the nearby hospital for immediate treatment, however, was declared dead on arrival.
