According to the latest reports, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has stated that there will be a 5 per cent water cut from Tuesday, May 24 to May 27 between 11 am and 3 pm. The BMC, reportedly released a statement wherein it elaborated on how the concerned area's citizens have been urged to keep the needed stock of water on the day prior to the water cut in the mentioned duration.
Based on accounts, the water supply will be impacted in considerable areas of south Mumbai. These include the likes of Colaba, Cuffe Parade, Nariman Point, Churchgate, Fort, Crawford Market, and Bhendi Bazar.
In addition to this, other areas that are slated to be impacted are eastern suburbs like Kurla, Govandi, Mankhurd, Chembur and Tilak Nagar, as narratives mentioned.
Reports suggest that the water supply will be impacted because of the maintenance work of a 100kV power substation at Pise Panjrapur Complex. Wards that will bear the brunt of this phenomenon entail, A, B, E, F-South, F-North, L, M-East, M-West, N, S and T.
During the water cut duration, Mumbaikars have been urged by the authorities to make use of water sparingly. Moreover, to ensure that there is not any shortage, they have also been asked to keep the required water stock a day before.
