Mumbai division of Western Railway (WR) has announced a 13-hour jumbo block on both up and down fast lines between Grant Road and Mumbai Central station from 10 pm to 11 am on Saturday/Sunday, February 8/9.
This block will take place owing to maintenance work of tracks, signalling and overhead equipment will be taken up during these hours. It is likely to impact the daily commuters on this busy route.
In an official statement issued by Chief Public Relations Officer of WR, Vineet Abhishek, said that during the block period, all up and down fast line trains will be operated on slow lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central station. Some suburban trains will remain cancelled during the block and some Churchgate trains will be short terminated/reversed ex Bandra/Dadar station.
Detailed information to this effect has been made available to the station masters, the spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, the railway authorities further said that the block between Virar-Vaitarna, Saphale-Kelve Road stations for launching PSC slabs and girders, which was scheduled to be undertaken on Sunday, February 9, has been cancelled.
