Angry parents and Badlapur residents gathered outside the school in thousands on Tuesday against the incident of sexual misconduct of two minors at Adarsh School in Badlapur East. Parents and citizens had gathered outside the school since 6:30 in the morning. At this time the protesters staged a sit-in outside the school. Various demands were made on this occasion including severe punishment to the accused. The incident took place on August 12-13 during morning classes.
Meanwhile, local services are affected between Ambernath and Karjat on both Up and Down lines as an angry mob got down on the railway line at Badlapur. Authorities are trying to resolve the issue as early as possible.

Adarsh School in Badlapur East has issued an apology on Monday, even as the local police and the school administration are under fire over the case of sexual abuse of two children. In this case, four people including the concerned headmistress of the school were suspended. On Tuesday, parents and vigilant citizens decided to protest against the school. Accordingly, parents and Badlapur residents started gathering outside the school on Tuesday morning. By eight o'clock in the morning, thousands of citizens had gathered on the street outside the school.
The protestors were shouting slogans against the school administration and the police who ignored the seriousness of the incident. A large participation of women and young women of the city was seen in the movement. The protestors were carrying various messages and placards. By 8:30 in the morning, the protesters had spread from the old building of Kulgaon Badlapur Municipality directly to the office of former MP Kapil Patil. The police administration was trying to convince them. But the agitation continued till ten o'clock.
