The Kalamboli police has arrested accused Saddam Hussain Ansari (30) for allegedly stabbing Parvez Ansari to death over a dispute of non-payment of dues amounting to INR 1,250.
According to the police, Ansari was hired by the accused Saddam Hussain Ansari for labour work. When accused Saddam Hussain Ansari demanded immediate payment of the remaining dues from Parvez Ansari at a private firm in Taloja, they got into an argument which turned into a scuffle.
Accused Saddam Hussain Ansari had threatened to pay the money immediately or strict action would be taken, Kamboli police officer said.
The incident took place on the night of June 14 in Sector 14, where Parvez Ansari was going to pay the workers, HT reported. After settling the dues, Hussain claimed he was owed an additional INR 1,250.
When Parvez sought further time till June 20 to settle the amount, an enraged Hussain stabbed him, aggrieved by the delay. Two other accomplices were also injured in the process, the officer said.
Parvez was rushed to hospital but died during treatment. Hussain was subsequently arrested and booked under sections 302 (murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
