Mumbai: Man Alerts Delhi Control Room, Claims Woman Carrying Bomb on Mumbai-Delhi Flight

The Delhi control room received a threatening phone call that there was a human bomb in the Mumbai to Delhi flight carrying 80 to 90 lakhs. Mumbai Police was immediately informed about this. It is suspected that this call was made to trap the woman. So far, 10 cases have been registered in Mumbai for threatening to blow up an aeroplane with a bomb.


A woman named Gauri Barwani is travelling in a flight from Mumbai to Delhi and she lives in Versova, Mumbai. She will go abroad from Delhi and she has 80 to 90 lakh rupees with her. She has money which is meant for terrorists and is a human bomb. The caller informed that she was going to London to meet an acquaintance. After receiving information about this from the Delhi Control Room, the airport authorities conducted an investigation. It is suspected that the call was made with the intention of harassing the woman.


In recent days, there has been an increase in the number of bomb threat messages received on planes. So far, 10 cases have been registered in Mumbai within a week. Sahar police have registered a case and started investigation in this matter. This is the 10th case registered by the Mumbai Police for bomb threats on planes. The Crime Branch is also conducting a parallel investigation in these cases. Sahar Police has registered a case against the unknown Twitter account holder, the officer said.

In this regard, a threat was given by X on Tuesday and the investigation did not find any truth in it. The intimidation session has been going on for the past week and passengers and luggage on all the planes have been thoroughly checked, but nothing suspicious has been found. After due investigation, these threats were found to be false.


It was also reported on Sunday that there were bombs in various planes in the country. Vistara Airlines received threats for six of its scheduled flights, including UK 106 (Singapore – Mumbai) and UK 107 (Mumbai – Singapore). Aksa Air was also put on alert for several flights including QP 102 (Ahmedabad – Mumbai), QP 1385 (Mumbai – Bagdogra), QP 1519 (Kochi – Mumbai) and QP 1526 (Lucknow – Mumbai).

A security alert was issued on six IndiGo Airlines flights, including 6E58 (Jeddah – Mumbai) and 6E17 (Mumbai – Istanbul). Every flight and passenger was checked for security. Upon investigation, all the threats or messages were found to be false.


A message claiming there was a bomb on the Udaipur-Mumbai flight, written on tissue paper, was later found to be a hoax. Sahar police recently arrested a 17-year-old student from Chhattisgarh in connection with the incident. The teenager allegedly created a social media account impersonating someone else to post the threat, reportedly intending to settle an old dispute with that individual.
