An FIR has been lodged at VP Road Police Station against Sagar Belose (32), who resides in Virar, for attacking his wife Sheetal Belose (30) and slitting the neck with a cutter at Khadilkar Road, Girgaon. Later, he tried to commit suicide and kill himself.
According to the police, both were married for over a decade and they have a 10-year-old. However, the wife had a suspicion of her husband having an affair and decided to stay at her father's house at VP Road. “She came to her father's house and her husband Sagar was pleading her to come back home. But she was attacked out of anger for refusing to return," the police added.
On August 5, the accused attacked her with a cutter in Girgaon area. And then the accused tried to commit suicide by stabbing himself as well. The matter came to light after the police received information that a woman was left injured on the road following the incident.
Sheetal was rushed to HN Reliance Hospital while Sagar Belose was rushed to JJ Hospital, "Both sustained injuries and their condition is stable and both are out of danger," police said. Sagar has been booked under BNS section 109 (attempt to murder).
