Kala Ghoda - You heard it right. Mumbaikars now will be able to see a 2300 year old Mummy in our own Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalay at Kala Ghoda. A special exhibition titled Mummy- An Unsolved Mystery is now open to the public, where you will get to see the well preserved Egyptian Mummy, said to belong to the Ptolemaic era. The mummy has been with the museum for several years, but is being displayed in public for the first time.
The over 3000 year old Egyptian civilisation used to believe in life after death. And hence, they used to keep mummified bodies in huge pyramids built for the purpose. History buffs will get to see this Mummy at usual museum rates and no extra charges will be levied for this exhibition which will be open till 4th January from 10am to 6pm.
