While the scattered rain activity continued, people are looking forward to the weather getting pleasant in the days to come. On July 23, Santacruz recorded 18 mm and Colaba 40 mm of rain. Many places in suburbs recorded light to moderate showers.

A cyclonic circulation is over Lakshadweep area and adjoining the East Central Arabian Sea. A mid-level trough is extending from this circulation up to the north coast of Maharashtra.

Skymet, which is a weather forecasting body in its daily Monsoon update shared that, "Expect moderate showers over Southern suburbs and few passing showers in Mumbai. Moderate showers with one or two short intense spells are possible over Mumbai and suburbs until July 26. Thereafter intensity of rain may decrease but localized rain activities may continue over Mumbai and suburbs".

Commenting on the temperature trends, Skymet further notes, "During the next 2-3 days, we expect the temperature to remain near normal and the weather will be comfortable in Mumbai and suburbs. There will be relief from ongoing sultry weather conditions for the next few days".

IMD earlier had issued a yellow alert for Mumbai and adjoining places for the weekend and predicted that there could be an increase in the rain activity on Saturday and Sunday but it has now withdrawn the alert.
