The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) is actively implementing measures to improve air quality in the region. As part of this initiative, the TMC has instructed 297 builders to adhere to air pollution control guidelines to mitigate dust pollution. Show-cause notices have been issued to 39 builders for failing to comply with these regulations, warning that construction work will be halted if immediate action is not taken.

Preliminary notices were sent to 297 construction projects, out of which 31 have fully complied with the guidelines. However, 151 projects were found with minor violations and fined approximately 4 lakh rupees, with directives to rectify the issues promptly. For non-compliance, 39 projects received show-cause notices, demanding an explanation as to why their construction should not be stopped.
