Due to continuous rains for the past few days, the number of winter fever and dengue patients has started increasing in the state. Two thousand 924 winter fever patients have been detected in the state within a month and the number of winter fever patients has reached 7,447. Also, three patients have died of winter fever. Similarly, 2,163 dengue patients have been detected and the number of dengue patients has reached 4,965. Also, two patients have died due to dengue. Compared to last year, the number of winter fever and dengue patients has increased this year.


The Public Health Department is trying its best to prevent the outbreak of winter fever and dengue. But it seems that he is not getting much success. According to the information given by the health department of the state government, 2924 winter fever patients have been found in the state during the one month period from June 21 to July 18. Gadchiroli has the highest number of 1,826 patients. Under that, 657 patients have been found in Mumbai, 105 in Chandrapur and 37 in Panvel. Similarly, three people have died due to heat in July, and all these three deaths have taken place in Gadchiroli.


Like winter fever, dengue cases have also increased. During the period from June 21 to July 18, 2,163 dengue cases have been found in the state. Therefore, the number of dengue patients has reached 3164 till July 18. Maximum number of dengue cases have been detected in Mumbai at 394. Among them, 297 patients have been found in Kolhapur, 238 in Nashik, 103 in Raigad, 61 in Ratnagiri and 45 in Palghar. During the same period, two people have died of dengue in the state.

There is also an increase in Chikungunya patients

Like winter fever and dengue, there has been an increase in chikungunya cases this year. From June 21 to July 18, 334 cases of chikungunya have been found in the state. During the same period last year, 363 cases of chikungunya were found in the state. 1075 cases of chikungunya have been detected in the state so far this year. Last year, however, 1702 patients were found in the entire year.
