While the number of coronaviruses in the country is increasing day by day, the vaccination drive is also gaining momentum. Now you can get information about the nearest vaccination centre at home.

The WhatsApp-powered MyGov Corona Helpdesk chatbot has added new functionality to make it easier for people to search for vaccination centres in their locality. To recall, the chatbot was launched last year to help eradicate fake news and spread awareness about COVID-19.

WhatsApp has introduced a new feature in India that will help its users find the Covid-19 vaccination centre nearest to them. The messaging app will make use of a chatbot for the same, developed in collaboration with several health partners that will operate this, and some more of such helplines.

It crossed 1.7 crores user milestone in just 10 days of its launch. With the third phase of the vaccine rollout underway, the MyGovIndia Twitter account has tweeted that the MyGov Corona Helpdesk chatbot now helps people find the nearest vaccination centre.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to find the nearest vaccination centre using WhatsApp:

  • To get information about COVID-19 Vaccination Center on WhatsApp, first, you have to save + 91-9013151515 on your mobile. This is the official Government of India's Corona Helpdesk number.
  • Then send a Hi, Hello or Namaste on the same number
  • An automated response will ask for a series of questions. The message will contain emergency contacts, a link to the Aarogya Setu app, as well as a range of questions that you might have.
  • Simply respond with your choice on the chat, and you will be directed further. The vaccination centre and other vaccine-related information is option 1 as of now.
  • After this, you will be asked for your pin code, as soon as you send the pin code you will get information about all the vaccination centres near you.
