The Chief Minister will visit this tunnel. They will inspect the second tunnel of the coastal road. After that, information is being received that this tunnel will be started. The objective of the Coastal Road Project is to make the travel of Mumbaikars faster and more convenient.
This is the second tunnel of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) Coastal Road Project starting from Marine Drive. It will be opened for northbound traffic. In this regard, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will inspect this tunnel today. After that, this road will be opened for traffic from June 11 from 7 am to 11 pm i.e. for a total period of 16 hours.
After the inspection by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, the road from Marine Drive area to Haji Ali is being opened. This route is about 6.25 km. This route will also be able to use the Amersons Park and Haji Ali corridors. These expressways will facilitate the movement of traffic between different parts of the city. Mainly from Ba Rajni Patel Chowk towards Worli, Bandra and from Vatsalabai Desai Chowk towards Tardeo, Mahalakshmi, Peddar Road, there will be great convenience.
This route will be open for traffic five days every week. Traffic will continue on this route from Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sunday will be closed to complete the rest of the project. On 11 March 2024, the southern lane of the Coastal Road was opened for traffic.
