According to the latest reports, major flyovers in Mumbai are slated to be painted soon based on their surroundings. It has been reported that the flyover near Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan also known as the Byculla Zoo on the Dr B A Ambedkar will be donned with leopards, tigers and penguins. 

Similarly, that near Borivali's Sanjay Gandhi National Park will be painted with wild animals and green gardens. On the other hand, the flyovers near the sea will have images of waves and water. 

Based on accounts, the aim is to give residents as well as tourists a feel of the vicinity. Apart from these other flyovers being considered is that of Marine Drive's Princess Street, Gloria Church in Byculla, T T Bridge in Parel, Mahalaxmi Bridge, Hindmata Bridge and Lower Parel Bridge.

It has been reported that the proposals for these theme-based paintings bridges were tabled at the recent Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) standing committee meeting. The proposal highlights that 33 bridges in Mumbai will be beautified at an expenditure of INR 6 crore. 

Additionally, including monsoon, the works are anticipated to be completed in 18 months. The proposal further added that when the civic body floated the tender, 16 companies had participated. The company which has now qualified for the work has undertaken a similar activity for the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation.
