The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is spreading a false narrative through social media out of fear of losing the assembly elections in Maharashtra, claimed State Congress Committee President Nana Patole. He accused the BJP of opposing both reservation policies and the Constitution. Patole stated that BJP's attempts to mislead the public by distorting a statement from Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi would not succeed in Maharashtra.
Speaking to the media in Delhi, Patole argued that BJP has disregarded democracy and constitutional values. He highlighted that the BJP is responsible for undermining reservation by allegedly recruiting children from specific castes to high-ranking positions without the UPSC examination. Patole also criticised the BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), claiming they have long disrespected the Constitution and intend to replace it with Manusmriti, thus undermining Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s vision.

To protect the nation's democracy, Rahul Gandhi undertook the Bharat Jodo Yatra, a 4,500 km journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, followed by the 7,000 km Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra from Manipur to Mumbai, aimed at uniting the country. Patole stated that the BJP leaders have repeatedly insulted icons like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Shahu Maharaj, Phule, and Ambedkar. He expressed confidence that the people of Maharashtra are discerning and will not be swayed by BJP’s strategies.
