Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has expressed the view that the Mahayuti government's ambitious 'Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana' requires huge funds and is not sure if the subsidy will be given on time in other sectors. He was speaking at an event in Nagpur on Sunday.
Gadkari's statement has once again raised a question mark about the financial condition of the state. The state government has recently launched this scheme for women in the age group of 18 to 65 from families with an annual family income of less than INR 2.5 lakh. INR 1,500 per month is paid under it.
Due to this, nearly 46 thousand crore rupees will be spent from the exchequer every year. The number of beneficiaries of the scheme is around two and a half crore rupees. In this regard, Gadkari appealed to the public not to depend entirely on the government for investment.
