NCP Jitendra Awhad raises question over post poll votes, alleges tampering

The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) candidates got the highest number of votes in all places in the assembly elections and this trend was expected to continue. However, NCP (Sharad Pawar group) leader Jitendra Awhad has expressed doubt about the voting machines saying that it did not happen in the counting of votes. He also raised the question that after polling closed i.e. between 6 pm to 11 pm, how the percentage of voting suddenly increased and where does the increased voting come from?

NCP (Sharad Pawar group) leader Jitendra Awhad held a press conference in Kalwa on Thursday and raised questions on the functioning of the Election Department. Since 2014, I have been talking about the threat of voting machines. Awhad said that our people have neglected it. Since voting machines are man-made, they can be tampered with. After voting, the voting number is immediately available in the voting machine. However, he also raised the question as to why there is a delay in giving the polling statistics.

He also claimed that even after the close of polling i.e. between 6 pm to 11 pm, as many as 76 lakh votes have been increased in the state. A maximum turnout of half to two percent may increase after six. But in some districts it has been seen that the percentage of voting has increased up to 10 percent. He has also claimed that the ruling party's candidate got almost identical votes in Nashik and this would not have been possible without a pattern.

“We won a Lok Sabha seat in Nanded and lost six assembly seats. How can such different results be applied in the same district,” he said. Maha Vikas Aghadi candidates got the highest number of votes in all places in the assembly elections and this trend was expected to continue. But it did not happen in the counting of votes.

“What is the use of the constitution and democracy if election results are to be given in the same manner everywhere”, he added.

He also expressed fear that this will end democracy and India will become Russia. Sharad Pawar is being isolated in such a way that it will affect his mental state. He said that the same strategy is being planned for Matoshree.
