Applications open for Mumbai Suburban District Level Sports Award

An appeal has been made by the District Sports Officer, Mumbai Suburbs under the Directorate of Sports and Youth Services, State of Maharashtra, Pune to send a proposal for the Mumbai Suburban District Level Sports Award.

As per reports, applications are invited from meritorious athletes (male, female and disabled players) and sports guides from Mumbai Suburban District for the District Sports Award which will be given to the meritorious people from the district as a token of appreciation and encouragement for their efforts.

Eligibility Criteria for Sports Guide Award are as follows:

• The applicant for the award should have resided in the respective district of Maharashtra for 15 consecutive years.
• Must have completed 35 years of age.
• Must have worked as a sports guide for 10 consecutive years.
• Applicant's performance in that district will be taken into account for the scoring.
• State and national medal winners in the last ten years at least in the senior group, as well as national level medalists in junior school, rural and women's (Khelo India), will be eligible for the sports guide award.

Eligibility Criteria for Player Award include the following:

• The player must have represented the district in the official competition of the recognized sport for two out of the five years preceding the award year.
• The awards of the players in the official state and national championships of the recognized sport will be considered in the pre-five years of the year, national-level performance in sports competitions organized by state and national level senior-junior schools, national schools and central government and the best three years.

Applicants can submit the application until December 30, 2020, at the District Sports Officer's Office, Government Physical Education College Campus, in front of Sambhajinagar, Akurli Road, Kandivali (East).
