After 72 years, a Marathi boy has won a medal in the Olympics. Swapnil is currently working as TC in Pune Division of Central Railway. By the time Swapnil arrives in India from Paris, he will be duly honoured by the Indian Railways and immediately promoted as an officer. This announcement was made by General Manager of Central Railway Ram Karan Yadav. Similarly, the Railway Minister will also announce a cash reward for Swapnil.
Swapnil remembered Khashaba Jadhav who won India's first individual medal in wrestling. After almost 72 years, Swapnil has created the same kind of joy and enthusiasm for the sports field of the state by winning this medal for Maharashtra. Kolhapur district has a great tradition of shooting. Swapnil has maintained this tradition. Coming from a rural area like Kambalwadi, Kusale has made his state and country famous and proud. CM Eknath Shinde assured that he will continue to provide all necessary support for Swapni's progress.
Kusale took the bronze medal despite hitting a 10.0. His total score read 451.4.
