The historic Thane integral Ring Metro Rail Project, which Thanekars have been waiting for years, was approved in the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Due to this project, the problem of traffic congestion in Thane city will be resolved and in terms of infrastructure, this city will appear in the list of well-equipped cities, believes CM Eknath Shinde


The project costs around INR 12,200 crore. It will cover a distance of 29 km, and has 22 stations. This project will help in improving the traffic congestion in the original city of Thane. This Thane integral Ring Metro Rail Project will pass through Naupada, Wagle Estate, Dongri Pada, Hiranandani Estate, Kolshet, Saket.

This ambitious project will be built through Mahametro and for this, the central and state governments will raise equal funds. The technical process of this project has been completed and the project will be completed by the year 2029. Approximately 6.47 lakh passengers will benefit from this project.
