From Tuesday morning, more than 30,000 BEST employees went on strike demanding a raise in their salary. However, on the same day, Shiv Sena’s Kamgar Sena withdraw their support but buses remain off roads. 

On Tuesday morning, 10 buses were vandalised at Ram Mandir in Wadala, PMGP Colony in Dharavi, Malad (W), Magathane Depot, Pathanwadi in Malad  and other areas. Meanwhile, bus driver Ganpat Yadav was injured at Wadala depot in a stone-pelting incident. The strike has affected more than 25 lakh commuters.

In order to help stranded commuters, MSRTC brought in additional 55 bus services. Central and Western Railway will be running additional train services for commuters’ convenience.
