Although the polling in five constituencies in the first phase of Vidarbha has been completed and the polling in eight constituencies in the second phase is around the corner, both factions of the regional parties Shiv Sena and NCP have not announced their manifestos yet.


The manifestos of both the BJP and Congress national parties have been published. There is Uddhav Shiv Sena Thackeray group and Shinde faction in the state and Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar’s NCP. Ajit Pawar group has so far announced candidates in four constituencies namely Baramati, Shirur, Raigad, Osmanabad. Parbhani's seat has been left for ally Jankar. Out of the four, the time has come for the Ajit Pawar group to import two candidates, namely Shivajirao Adharao Patil from Shirur and Archana Patil from Osmanabad. Satara seat was captured by BJP. The party insisted on Nashik, but Chhagan Bhujbal withdrew. Overall, the condition of Ajit Pawar's group in the Grand Alliance has become miserable.

Three sitting MPs of Chief Minister Shinde's Shiv Sena were denied candidature due to BJP pressure. Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg seat won by BJP. The constituencies of Thane, Nashik, Palghar, South Mumbai are still not resolved. The Shiv Sena Thackeray group has got the maximum number of seats in the Maha Vikas Aghadi. NCP's Sharad Pawar group has won ten seats. Sharad Pawar group is more happy to get more seats than Ajit Pawar group. However, the situation of the Congress has become dire. The time came for the party to leave Sangli, Bhiwandi, Wardha seats to the allies, which were expected by the party. Congress has got 17 seats in Maha Vikas Aghadi. As it is not yet clear how many seats the Shinde group and Ajit Pawar group will get in the grand alliance, the situation of both the parties has become somewhat difficult at present.


It was clarified on behalf of Shiv Sena that the manifesto will be published in the next two days. The Sharad Pawar group’s manifesto will be released on Thursday. In the first phase, Shinde group's candidate was in the fray in Ramtek. But even after the polling, the Shinde group could not release the manifesto.
