The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has recently issued a notice to the residents of Eastern suburbs stating that there will be a shortage of water for the next 24 hours. This water shortage will be particularly in the areas of Mulund, Chembur, Mankhurd and Kurla. Further, there will be low-pressure water in T, S, N, L and M wards.
The water shortage has been announced as there have been some technical problems at the Paranjpol water pumping station. It is said that the water supply will resume from February 18 midnight. The summer is just beginning to set in the island city and there are already water cuts being announced in the state. Looking at this one feels that one should brace for a long and hard summer ahead.
