The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) is providing telecommunication infrastructure through a third-party private company to provide uninterrupted mobile services to passengers between Aarey and BKC on the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro 3 route. Accordingly, Airtel and Vodafone network services have been made available on Metro 3 route. However, even though it has been six months since the Aarey to BKC metro route was put into service, there is still no Jio network on this route.

Due to this, Jio card holders are unable to get e-tickets while travelling on Metro 3. They are also unable to contact anyone on their mobile phones during the journey. Due to this, Jio card holders are facing inconvenience while travelling on Metro 3 and many complaints are coming to MMRC. MMRC is continuously following up on this.

If you go to the underground metro station, passengers have to buy paper tickets instead of e-tickets because Jio's network is not available. Importantly, sources have also expressed the possibility that the working class in IT and other sectors is not turning to Metro 3 because mobile phones cannot be used during the journey.
