Two minor girls were sexually assaulted by a sweeper in a reputed school in Badlapur. As soon as this came to light, there was a wave of anger in the area. In protest against this incident, the citizens of the city staged a rail stop on Tuesday. At this time, some protesters also pelted stones at the police. In this case, the police have taken action and registered cases against around 300 people.
Also, 28 people have been arrested so far. The Police have registered cases under various sections like Rail Roko agitation, obstruction of government work, stone pelting and attempt to create a riot. The arrested protesters will be produced in court today. At present, there is a pre-tensional calm in the city. The police have appealed that no one should take the law into their hands and vandalise public property.
On the other hand, the accused in the Badlapur rape case has been arrested by the police. At present, the accused is being thoroughly interrogated. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has assured that the case will be tried in a fast track court and the accused will be punished severely. Meanwhile, the citizens of the area have alleged that if the police had taken notice of the incident at Badlapur on time, the agitation would not have raged.

On Tuesday, Badlapurkar started a protest outside the concerned school against this incident of torture. But even after two hours no discussion was held by the administration with the protestors. The protesters were enraged. Some of these protesters directly reached Badlapur railway station and blocked the railway track. Due to this, the train service was stopped.
The police resorted to mild lathis to disperse the protesters. But after this the protesters became more aggressive. They pelted stones at the police. Therefore, a large number of police forces had to be called to restrain the protestors. Even after that, as the crowd did not calm down, tear gas had to be used outside the school.
