The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has collected ₹9 lakhs fine in two days from illegal parking at various locations across the city. The fine was collected between November 18 to November 20.  It has penalised more than 136 vehicles. 

The vehicles against which action was taken include 39 heavy vehicles, 79 cars, 5 three-wheelers and one two-wheeler. BMC had allotted over 23 spots across the city as Public Parking Lots (PPLs).

In order to assist the people to find Public Parking Lots (PPLs) with ease, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had further started a facility on the MCGM 24x7 application. With this, people can find the nearest public parking lot at a finger's reach as the mobile application will guide the people and provide them with directions.

Along with this, the application will also provide information on its timings, parking fees and types of vehicles that can be parked. The PPLs that can be located include the BMC-owned ones along with the Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) depots.
