Maharashtra Govt Allots INR 305.63 Cr to Develop Pilgrimage Sites With Theme Parks, Water Sports Facilities

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde held a state-level meeting focussing on improving pilgrimage sites and tourist attractions across Maharashtra on Tuesday, September 24. During the meeting, development plans worth INR 305.63 crore were approved.

Of the total, significant funds were dedicated to the development of pilgrimage sites in the state. CM Shinde talked about the importance of completing high-quality work on these projects. He urged officials to start planning for these improvements immediately.

Here's a list of plans approved in the meeting:

1. There are plans to build a "Darshan Mandap" and a "Darshan Queue" at the Pandharpur Vitthal Mandir at the cost of INR 129.49 crore.

2. The Urban Development Department presented plans for the development of the Laxmi Narayan Shiv Mandir-Nandanvan for Rs 24.73 crore in Nagpur.

3. Approval was also granted to the Kutte Wale Baba Mandir ashram for INR 13.35 crore, and the Murlidhar Mandir Pardi for INR 14.39 crore in Nagpur. 

4. Shinde approved INR 25 crore for the development of the Mars Planet Temple in Amalner taluka, located in Jalgaon district. 

5. Approval was also given for the development of Shri Kshetra Gahininath Gad, with a budget of INR 2.67 crore.

6. A theme park will be constructed in Bhagur, Nashik, the birthplace of Veer Savarkar. The project will receive INR 40 crore, with INR 15 crore allocated for the first phase.

7. Approval has been granted for water sports activities in the Satara Koyna reservoir, with an estimated budget of INR 47 crore.

8. A memorial in Satara honouring Constable Tukaram Ombale, who died during the 26/11 terrorist attack, was also sanctioned. INR 15 crore will be allocated for its construction.

9. During the meeting, an INR 18 crore proposal for the development of Sant Gadgebaba Karmabhumi was presented. 

Several ministers attended the meeting. This included Chandrakant Patil, the Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Anil Patil, the Minister of Relief and Rehabilitation, and MLAs Saroj Ahire, Saadhan Awatade, and Shivendra Singh Raje Bhosale. Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik and Additional Chief Secretary Vikas Kharge were also present.
