Due to potholes on Ghodbunder Road, citizens are facing huge traffic jams. Citizens are expressing their displeasure due to this. According to an official of Maharashtra's Public Works Department (PWD), the potholed Ghodbunder Road has been promised to be repaired in the next eight to 10 days.
Officials said that they are doing repair work on a daily basis and as per need. We aim to complete the repair work in this section in the next eight to 10 days. Concrete roads have already been approved and work orders have also been given. Construction will start soon.
Ghodbunder Road, especially the 14 km stretch from Kapurbavadi to Fountain Hotel, falls under the purview of PWD for maintenance and repair work. Residents have been complaining about the poor condition of the road every four months. which causes vehicles to break down, especially in the ghat area, resulting in frequent traffic jams.

A group called Justice for Ghodbunder Road was formed about a month ago by local residents who were disturbed by frequent traffic jams, pothole problems and inadequate street lights on Ghodbunder Road. The group assists with traffic management as needed and keeps residents updated on the progress of repair work.
A meeting between residents and officials of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), PWD and traffic police was held recently. After the meeting, additional traffic wardens were deployed on the roads and heavy vehicles were banned during Ganpati celebrations.
