Ahead of the oath-taking ceremony tomorrow, December 5, for the chief minister of Maharashtra, a heavy security has been placed at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan. The ceremony will be held at 5:30 pm.

For this, the Mumbai Police have deployed more than 2,500 cops at the site as a large crowd is expected to gather.

Authorities have likely deployed enhanced security measures, including random inspections, checkpoints, and dog sniffers around the venue. Armed forces, a task force, and other agencies would be present to manage the crowd.

Additionally, the venue has been declared a no-flying zone for Wednesday (December 4) and Thursday (December 5), and the police personnel were deployed at several high-rise buildings to keep a watch. Official drones were also expected to be deployed to keep a vigil at the oath ceremony.

Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule has been overseeing preparations for the ceremony and visited the venue in south Mumbai on Monday, December 2.

Although the exact timing of the event remains unclear, such procedures take place in the early to late afternoon. Initial sources indicate Prime Minister Narendra Modi will likely be present at the inauguration.
