A naked man entered the ladies compartment of a Mumbai local train, causing fear and chaos among passengers. The incident occurred On Monday evening, December 16, around 4 pm on the AC local train travelling from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Kalyan.
Railway staff later reported that the man was mentally ill and had boarded the train accidentally. The event took place at Ghatkopar station. At 4:11 pm, the man entered the ladies compartment. Women inside the compartment asked him to leave, but he refused.
The commotion alerted the train motorman, who stopped the train. A travelling ticket examiner (TTE) was in the adjacent compartment. When the women called the TTE for assistance. At the next station, the TTE managed to escort the man off the train.

A video of the incident went viral online. It shows the man standing near the compartment door. Women are heard shouting "Neeche utro" (get down). In the footage, a railways staff member is seen helping the man exit the train.
The video sparked reactions on social media. Many expressed concern over the man’s mental health and criticised the handling of the situation. A passenger shared the video with railway activist Lata Argade. She highlighted the safety concerns this incident raised, especially since the man boarded the train at a busy station like Ghatkopar.
Railway officials confirmed that the man was mentally unstable. He was taken into custody by the Government Railway Police (GRP). Authorities helped him get dressed and released him outside the station.
