In accordance with the Model Code of Conduct for the Maharashtra Assembly General Election 2024, a bold action is being taken by the Municipal Corporation to remove unauthorised advertisements displayed in public places through various media in the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation area. In this, a large number of 4418 small and large unauthorised banners and hoardings have been removed in a period of 4 days from October 13 to 16 .


As per the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde and under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of the Encroachment Department, Dr. Rahul Gethe, a campaign has been launched on a war footing at the office level of all eight departments. Six departments, along with the Commissioner and Department Officers, have removed unauthorised political advertisements placed on government, public, and private properties.

In this, 391 in Belapur Division, 1139 in Nerul Division, 444 in Vashi Division, 1005 in Turbhe Division, 571 in Koparkhairane Division, 350 in Ghansoli Division, 331 in Airoli Division, 187 in Digha Division thus a total of 4418 small and big banners and hoardings have been removed. Apart from this, paintings, writings, posters, papers, flags, arches have also been removed from public walls.


The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has taken action to remove unauthorised political advertisements in accordance with the Model Code of Conduct for the Assembly Elections. In the future, it is advised that advertisements should be published in the approved format only after obtaining permission from the Election Department, otherwise, legal action will be taken.
