Despite the announcement of a plastic ban, hawkers are still selling veggies in plastic bags in many areas in Mumbai.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) are trying their best to regulate the plastic ban in Mumbai but are not able to do so. Same can be seen in Dadar where it has been observed that the hawkers have been selling veggies in plastic bags telling consumers that the ban on plastic bags will be implemented after a month.

Though the BMC has rights to take action against the hawker if one is caught selling plastic bags less than 50 microns, but that's not happening currently according to Shiv Sena corporator Samadhan Sarvankar, who also expressed displeasure over the use of the plastic bags in Dadar.
