The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to reduce the water supply by 05 percent as a precautionary measure to ensure that the reservoirs that supply water to the city of Mumbai are reduced. Due to the implementation of this reduction, five percent water reduction has also been implemented in some parts of Thane city, which is supplied with water from Mumbai Municipal Corporation. This reduction will be 10 percent from Wednesday, June 05.
A total of 590 MLD of water is supplied from various sources in the Thane municipal area. Out of this, 85 MLD water is supplied to Thane from the sources of BMC. Naupada, Pachapakhadi, Hazuri, Louiswadi, Raghunath Nagar, Namdev Wadi, Sainath Nagar, Ramchandra Nagar 1, Kisan Nagar No. 1, Kisan Nagar No. 2, Shivaji Nagar, Padwal Nagar, Janata Jhopadpatti, Shivshakti Nagar, Karwalo Nagar from this water reservoir in the Municipal Corporation limits. Ambika Nagar, Dnyaneshwar Nagar, Jai Bhavani Nagar, Kajuwadi, Jijamata Nagar, Balkum Pada No 1, Lakshmi Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Manpada (Nalpada), Kopri Dhobighat, Gavdevi (Louiswadi) Water Tank, Tekdi Bunglow Water Tank, Bhatwadi, Indira Nagar, Anand Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Kopri Kanhaiya Nagar have been supplied with water.

Now 5 percent water reduction has been implemented in this area and 10 percent water reduction is going to be done after June 5. Citizens have been appealed to keep the necessary stock of water and use it sparingly and cooperate with the Thane Municipal Corporation during this water cut period.
