A number of politicians, ministers, and bureaucrats – property owners in Worli’s Shubhda Co-operative Housing Society - have an outstanding tax amount in crores to be paid to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The top defaulter name is Maharashtra Rural Development Minister - Pankaja Munde.
Munde owns three shops in the building – NV Distilleries Limited (Shop Number 13), Shetikari Baliraja Sakhar Karkhana Limited (Shop Number 14), and Shop Number 15. Around ₹1.46 crore property tax on these three shops is yet to be paid.

Similarly, former Chief Minister Shivajirao Patil-Nilangekar owes the balance for maintenance of ₹2.90 crore. Another former Minister Anna Dange’s ₹49.31 lakh are remaining to be paid and MLA Gopaldas Agrawal’s son, Praful, owes ₹16.87 lakh. The pending amounts have not been paid for more than a year.
