Jagruti got married to Sagar in a grand ceremony at Bhusawal in April. The groom was given gold, however, the accused mother-in-law Shobha told the family that they did not give enough gold. She said they have bought a house in Mumbai and demanded INR 10 lakh for the same. The victim’s family told the mother in law to give them some time as a lot of money was spent on the wedding. The Varade family said that they will pay a small amount later, but mother-in-law Shobha did not like it.

You are not fair, and kept saying that we don't like you, you should leave the house. Jagrutii was troubled by this constant harassment. She informed her parents about this. They had told her to stay calm, and everything will be fine. Jagurti committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan at her residence on Friday as her mother-in-law Sobha's problems continued to worsen. On the complaint of the girl's mother, the Manpada police have registered a case against Shobha, Sagar Bari.
