Customs officers at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai, seized suspected cocaine weighing 1.789 Kgs, with an illicit market value of approximately INR 17.89 Crore, in a single case. One passenger was arrested in connection with the seizure.
On April 1, 2025, based on spot profiling, one passenger arriving from Nairobi to Mumbai via Doha (QR1342/6E1304) was intercepted by Customs officers at CSMI Airport.
During a detailed examination of the baggage, a white-coloured powdered substance, purported to be cocaine, weighing approximately 1,789 grams, was recovered from the false cavity of the trolley bag carried by the passenger. The suspected cocaine is valued at INR 17,89,00,000. The passenger was arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985.
