A lawyer from Mumbai has filed a complaint accusing BookMyShow and Live Nation Entertainment of planning a massive ticket scam linked to Coldplay’s India concert. The allegations revolve around the ticket sales for the three-day event that is scheduled for January 2025 at the DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai. The tickets went live on Sunday, September 22 on BookMyShow.

Amit Vyas, Founder Partner of Vertices Partners, has accused ticketing platforms of manipulating access by blocking or logging out users to allow bots and black-market operators to dominate ticket sales.

He highlighted that tickets marked as sold out on BookMyShow later appeared on resale platforms like Viagogo at prices inflated by 30 to 50 times. Vyas claims these actions violate consumer rights and Indian criminal law, prompting an EOW investigation. He also plans to file an FIR under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and a PIL in the Bombay High Court to introduce stricter regulations for large-scale events.

“BookMyShow has no association with any ticket selling/reselling platforms such as Viagogo and Gigsberg or third party individuals for the purpose of reselling Coldplay's Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 in India,” said the company in a statement.
