In the Damu Nagar area of Kandivali, nine children's condition suddenly deteriorated around 10 am on Tuesday, February 11, after consuming castor seeds. All these children were admitted to Kandivali’s Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar (Shatabdi) Hospital. Four of these children are in critical condition. The condition of five children is stable and the children are undergoing treatment.


Some children aged 4 to 6 years from Damu Nagar in Kandivali East were playing in the area around 10 am on Tuesday. At that time these children ate castor seeds. Soon after that, all these children started vomiting and their health deteriorated.

These children were admitted to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar (Shatabdi) Hospital in Kandivali around 3 pm. They were immediately treated in the emergency department. Nine children were admitted to hospital after consuming castor seeds. Four of them are on life support and five others are in stable condition. The administration of Shatabdi Hospital said that these children are being treated under the supervision of pediatric specialists of the hospital.
