First list of engineering announced, 1.26 lakh 26 students to get admission opportunity

The State Common Entrance Examination Board on Wednesday night released the first list of first year Engineering (BE/ BTech), MBA degree courses. 1 lakh 76 thousand 111 students have qualified for the first round out of the students who have applied for the first year engineering (BE/BTech) course. Out of these 1 lakh 26 thousand 458 students have got an opportunity to get admission in the first round. Also, 33,942 students have got an opportunity to get admission in the first round for admission to Management Science course (MBA). The rest of the students are likely to get admission in the next two rounds.

Students preferred engineering first year degree courses with record enrolment. Compared to last year, the number of applicants has increased by 34 thousand. The result is reflected in the list of the first admission round. Out of 1 lakh 92 thousand 398 students who qualified in the final merit list, 1 lakh 76 thousand 111 students filled the preference list for the first admission round. Out of these 1 lakh 26 thousand 458 students have got an opportunity to get admission in the first round of admission announced on Wednesday night. Names of 49,653 students are in the waiting list. Two rounds of admission are left for these students.

The students who got admission in the first round have to take admission between 16 to 18 August. Students who have got a seat in the first choice college in the first round will have to take admission. Otherwise they will not be eligible to participate in the next round. Those students who have got preference other than first preference will be eligible for the next round. They will have to choose the 'Not Freeze' option to get a better college in the next round. 

The CET Board announced the first round of the Management Science course admission process. 57,617 students had filled preference for 46,165 seats. Out of these 33,942 students have got the opportunity to get admission in the first round.
