Zee TV is all ready to take their viewers on a journey of Kolkata’s unexplored red-light district Sonagachi with its latest offering ‘Yeh Teri Galiyan’. The show features Manish Goplani and Vrushika Mehta in lead roles. Produced by Cinevistaas the show is all about Shantanu (Manish Goplani) and Puchki’s (Vrushika Mehta) relationship. Their beautiful friendship which gets forcefully separated by destiny.
‘Yeh Teri Galiyan’ delivers a strong message about equal opportunities for commercial sex workers or anyone for that matter to rise beyond their reality to envision and to work towards a better future and be accorded with dignity and respect.
In an interactive session with Mumbai Live Vrushika Mehta said, “I didn't know about Sonagachi earlier but because of this show, I got to know about the place. When I saw the lanes of Sonagachi, I was really touched. I have watched a few documentaries as homework but I think when I will actually start shooting for the show I’ll get inspired and will learn something new every day. My character name is Puchki, who has risen beyond her roots and is on a path of achievements and realising her dreams. I am very fond of dancing and Puchki will be seen as a dance tutor on this show.”
Elaborating further about the show Manish Goplani averred, “This is my second show with Zee TV and I am excited to work with the channel once again. For me ‘Yeh Teri Galiyan’ was a very different topic, also this is a very intriguing story. I am portraying the character of Shantanu who is born in the red-light district of Kolkata. He is obedient to his mother and aspires to become a big man to provide her security and comfort in life.”
