The Meteorological Department had predicted heavy to very heavy rains in Mumbai and surrounding areas on Tuesday. However, the forecast went wrong. On Tuesday, the sky was comparatively clear and there was no heavy rain. Meanwhile, the Met department has predicted light to moderate showers in the city and suburbs from Wednesday. 


Due to the formation of a low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal, monsoon rains have become active in many parts of the state. As a result, the intensity of rain has increased in Mumbai as well as other areas for the last two to three days. After that, the Meteorological Department had predicted heavy to very heavy rain for Mumbai on Tuesday. However, the rain actually took a break on Tuesday in the city and suburbs.

The Meteorological department's Colaba centre recorded 0.8 mm of rain on Tuesday while Santacruz centre recorded 1.5 mm of rain. Meanwhile, from Wednesday, light to moderate rain will occur in the city and suburbs for the next two to three days and heavy rain at isolated places in the evening or night during this period has been predicted by the Meteorological Department. During this time the maximum and minimum temperature will be around 29 and 25 degree Celsius respectively.


In this, heavy to very heavy rain has been predicted in in Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurga, Satara districts, light rain in Nanded, Beed, Hingoli, Latur, Dharashiv areas, while in Nagpur, Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gondia districts windy rain has been predicted.
